All R.E.A.C.H.information must be received by DHQ by April 10, 2015.

 

 

The meal will be served from 11:00-12:30 on Saturday May 13th, 2017.  Everyone is expected to be there at that time.  If groups continue to show up late, it may become necessary to give the tickets out at the gate.  There will be plenty of time to visit in the park after the service.  Please remind your staff of the reason of the Banquet to honor those that has worked hard all year to earn this award.  Click on one of the links below for registration & recognition information!!!

APPROACHING THE PROBLEM OF ILLITERACY/SCHOOL DROP-OUTS

 





R.E.A.C.H. is an acronym that stands for Reading, Education, Attendance, Conduct, and Honors.  Developed by the Carolinas’ Divisional Headquarters in 1985 and implemented in each of its 21 Boys & Girls Clubs and Community Centers, the REACH program is designed to assist students with academic achievement, track that achievement, and reward students as achievement is gained.

 



RATIONALE:                       

Because of the recognized problem of school dropouts and illiteracy, especially in the population we serve, we propose a system to provide the local Club/Centers a tool to increase their effectiveness in addressing this need.

 

DEFINITION:                       

A divisional system to motivate, recognize and reward the improvement in, and maintaining of, scholastic excellent, with special emphasis on the potential school dropout, slow learner and unmotivated student.

 

STRUCTURE:           

The name of the system will be R.E.A.C.H.  An acronym for Reading, Education, Attendance, Conduct, Honors.  The time frame for each competition period will be one school year.
